Season 1, Issue 1: “ManicMan!” is an hour-long serialized drama that shifts between animation and live action. The series follows Malcolm Manalo, a trans artist returning to his hometown for a funeral five years after his disappearance. There he's forced to confront old wounds, untangle identity, and discover the story for his original comic book superhero – ManicMan, a cosmic warrior born from Malcolm’s fractured imagination. Interweaving the animated comic book world with Malcolm’s real life, “ManicMan!” blurs the lines between healing and hallucination as Malcolm learns to step into his power as an artist.
